Chapter I

Hey there! this is my journal, it's going to be on my preparation to do my bachelors in the US.
I want to first let you guys know that this blog is being posted in real time. I'm posting this blog as i am preparing to study in the US.

Let me introduce myself to you; My name is Arnold Godfray and I'm from Bangalore, India. Staying in a country like India a good education is what judged a person in the society and when i say "good education" i mean "GRADES" everyone here will judge you on the basis of your marks. I'm in my 12th grade and it its my peak time to start studying to get into a good college, the problem is not getting into a good college but how you get into one. I always wanted to do engineering and to get into a good engineering college in India is not an easy task, the competition is way too fierce, 12 lakh aspirants trying for 7000 seats, you could get placed in any ordinary college but what's the point if you don't make it to the top universities.

Its August and I had to make the choice on what I wanna do, so....... I chose to study abroad. I always thought of studying abroad, either in the US or Europe. I preferred the states, and to study bachelors in the states you have to write SAT(Scholastic  Aptitude Test) and get a good score in it. I did a little research on the test and i finalized on taking it. The next thing was scholarships; coming from a middle class Indian family the average college fees in the US is way off our charts. As an international student to get a scholarship you need to have a solid academic background.

So the things i had to focus on right now were:
  • Acing the SAT.
  • Crushing my Board Exams.
